As in the title, I need to decide between a fox ctd shock, or a monarch on my new frame . I've had a few friends have issues with them in the past, and don't want the hassle.

Yes new R, RT and RT3 models are better than the older 3., 4. and 5. models.
You do need to carry out air can services and seals changes fairly regularly though.
The CTD are also good shocks.

on a similar note, how do the monarchs and fox ctd compare to older (2010) rp23s.
