not actually going to get one right now (was hoping to get one within the next 5-6 months) but just enquiring as to what people might recommend.was also hoping to use it for recording bad guitar covers (will be uploading to youtube)thanking you in advance 🙂
Do you mean to attach to the bike or your person?
Sony Bloggie is a great camera for about £100, but it has no pause button, which I find very annoying.
i was planning on attaching it to bike.my main aim is to film whole routes that i do (then speed them up/put on youtube).saw a guys videos on there where he had gone from bath/trowbridge on k & a canal/trowbridge/devizes on canal towpath. that's the plan anyway 🙂
You could attach pretty much any camera to the bars, but anywhere else is gonna need a slim camera, one shaped like a phone. You could attach a normal digi camera to your sternum, if you use a Camelbak or rucksack that is. I made a bracket to attach my phone to my seatpost, only problem was it came out in 9:16 instead of 16:9. Good footage from that position though.
Look for one with decent image stabilisation - a combination of optical and electronic is probably best. Especially if you're going to mount it to the handlebars.
I'd be tempted to rig up a clamp so you could mount it to the top tube so it sits over the stem so it doesn't turn with the bars.
