Christmas and birthday beckon. Tempted to treat myself to some Middleburn RS7 cranks to put on the cross/tourer, maybe running 34/48 for the 'compact' road look and give me the choice to pop on a inner chainring for the more laden/hilly trips. (Campy shifters/mech so I can handle the double/triple thang).
Presumably it'll mean a different bb for two combinations (with Shimano ones being £15 I'll live with that...).
Anyone do something similar? Pics would be nice.
Go for it!
Not got a road bike, but have on Middleburn RS8's on two MTB's and RS7's on the other. Can't beat them, and they look gorgeous I reckon. With a UN53 BB, they spin by far more freely than either ISIS or external BB's do.

p.s. If you're looking for a black ATB (110mm BCD) spider, I've got one available second hand...
I fitted a Duo to my wife's roadie and
- the Q was too big,
- the chainline was poor - even on the narrowest BB that would feasibly fit
- and the shifting was poor too
Well made but it didn't stay on long. Now running a TA setup which is much better. HT2 setups are much better for roadies IMO.
