Just wondering how they fair for a bit of everything? Mainly Peak District riding with occasional trail centre visits and jaunts further afield. Also needs to cover pootling with the family duties.
V3 owner here, its a great bike and very versatile. It will easily cover your requirements above.
I had a V3 and agree it's a great bike. If you are heavy you may find the flex in the rear end translates to a dead feeling with a loss in power at slow speeds - I was on an XL. The geo is great though.
Cheers guys. I’m about 12st so not too heavy. Read a lot of good things about it and fancy a change from steel. Just need somebody to buy my Dirtbomb.
@Funkmasterp For reference I've had a fair few hardtails for comparison, including Cotics, Paces, and a RSD Middlechild Ti (currently set up single speed) and now the 2022 Chameleon. I would say that the new Chameleon is similar to the Banshee but has a more balanced peppy feel. Might be worth a look.
Thanks @TheGhost. How does it compare to the Cotic’s you’ve had. I’ve previously owned a 26” Bfe and 27.5” Soul amongst many others. Think my favourite HT was a Stif Morf. Not thought about the Chameleon so will take a look.
I've had 2 Souls and 2 Solaris Max's. The Cotics are loverly riding bikes with a beautiful aesthetic, but their chainstays are super long, which ultimately didn't suit the way I like to ride.
Cotic BFe Max chainstay = 444mm
Banshee Paradox chainstay = 425mm
2022 Chameleon chainstay = 425mm
I'd say the Cotics are very different from the Banshee Paradox V3. Beyond the apparent flexy steel vs stiff ali, the seat tube angle and chainstay length make them ride differently. Also, the Paradox has a super stiff front end.
Cotic BFe Max seat tube angle = 74.5 - this is with a 140mm fork sagged 25%, so it's even less static.
Banshee Paradox seat tube angle = 76.25 degrees measured with a 140mm fork static.
Before the cotic fans flame me, they are both excellent bikes, just different.
Thanks for that. Just fancy a change from steel and always liked the look of Banshee frames.
My one will be for sale soon as either a full bike or frame only. I've bought my dream ht so it will have to go.
What’s your dream HT? You can’t post that and not tell us 😀
Can't vouch for latest Paradox though Canfield Yelli Screamy as complete would be well worth a shout*
*imo and want
I'm guessing a Moots - well that would amongst a Curtis be my dream ht
It's a Yeti Arc in the turquoise 🙂 sorry its not titanium or unobtanium!
Ooh nice, hope you like it.
Cheers mate, it's not as playful as the banshee at the moment but I'm hoping to get it there 👍
