I’m thinking of trying a different shock setup on my 2008 Anthem and wondered if anyone else had tried anything similar and would there be any problems with me doing so. I should mention I am a fairly light marathon XC rider/racer so I am looking to make my ride more efficient especially whilst climbing and still having a bit of comfort over long distances.
I know the Anthem doesn’t suffer from pedal bob too much anyway but it’s not completely bob free. What about if I where to run the shock with slightly less pressure than usual (I have it set now to give about 8mm of sag) and then ride with pro pedal turned on.
Am I right in assuming that this would firm up the suspension more with practically no bob at all and would still be active over small bumps, more so than running the shock at a much higher pressure? Would the pro pedal compression tune have any effect on this? Shock is factory set to medium, and would running the shock with pro pedal on all the time damage the shock?
Any thoughts? Cheers all.
