my mate from down sarf is looking to buy a hardtail in the above price range and i dont know anything about hardtails as i've used full sus for years
any advice on good bikes would be appreciated

high end spesh rockhopper or low end stumpy?
probably going to be aluminium .genesis and boardman seem to get good reviews and have good kit.might be able to squeeze a P7 under a grand if he would rather have steel .

I've always liked the look of the rock lobster but there is also a Sanderson (I have one so I'm biased) also a pipedream sirus or dialled bike? There are loads and he good get a great 2nd hand HT for that price range if he wants.
