A bit spendy - but Rapha make the most comfortable bibs I've ever had.

Bibs are only suitable for bedroom/dungeon use with handcuffs and gags, possibly filled with frogs or ferrets for extra thrills ๐Ÿ™

Nalinis come up light, but with good 'technical' padding.

However I'd say shorts plus knee/leg warmers.

Gore Contest Bibs definitely, i have a couple of pairs and use them all year round both road and mtb. I even wear them on my dh bike with knee armour over the top. Perfect for stopping mud form going down your ass crack!

For what it's worth, I find that knee warmers always fall down when i ride off road - something to do with standing up and sitting down a lot i reckon.

I would recommend Gore - their pads are nice and all of the Gore kit i have is unnoticeable in use.
