MegaSack DRAW - 6pm Christmas Eve - LIVE on our YouTube Channel
Hi,
I'm thinking about doing a bit of commuting on my 29'er this autumn/winter. Can anyone recommend a slick or semi-slick ?
VC
not bothering with all this slick tyre nonsense on my cx, im using landcruisers with the reflective bit, fairly quick, puncture resistant, cheap and i can use them off road

these wtb cruz look good, hope they come over here.
I commute with my Schwalbe Big Apples. I think they're great. The other option I want to try is the new Halo 29 Twin rails.
I use halo twin rail as and when needed.
SB8's roll very well, if there any off-tarmac to be tackled.
I've got some Conti's off Next Day Tyres, with reflective sidewalls...28mm wide
I know 700c is nominally the same as 29" but can i put big 700c tyres on MTB rims (eg 700x35 or 700x38)
yes. Works both ways. I run 28 mm Conti Gatorskins on 29er Arch rims.

Yup

It has to be the Continental Sport Contact Reflex Tyre for me I've had it in three versions now 26" on my Pompino and 29er

oh, the above pic has 35mm maxxis columbieres
I have some of the lovely Schwalbe Marathon Supremes in a 700x50 size and they are great - roll super smoothly, decent weight for the size, very puncture resistant and don't make your mtb look weirdly anemic like Gary's above 😉 I think I may have a couple more in the shed if you are interested. Have also tried Big Apples and Fat Franks, but the Marathon Supremes are a much higher quality tyre.

oi! 😆
Very retro eroica Sam 🙂
I am running some 35mm Conti contact sports on touring rims on my road rat which would probably be a good choice
