Possible?
Desirable?
Anyone done it?

I find my stumpy (29er/650b+ flavour) to have a very low BB already, you would be pedal striking just riding on the flat I'd expect.

Why?

I have 29er FSR frame.
I have spare 27.5 wheels.

...and yet you're asking here instead of fitting them and making up your own mind?

ok. ๐Ÿ˜•

Got some short cranks too, unless you can fit some chubby tyres.

Dirt magazine added 650 wheels to one of the specialized bikes and loved it, Google one bike six ways, I think, and it should pull it up.

Why not just swap the frame for a 27.5 one or swap the wheels for 29er ones?

gwurk - I don't have the rest of the bike yet. No forks mainly.

So no I'm not building it up yet.

A 'definately no' on here means I would sell 27.5 wheels and buy 29er wheels.

Oh. Ok. Sorry Matt. Wasn't entirely clear from your question.

Firstly ignore anyone you've never met who says "definitely No." They're wrong.
Have you ridden the FSR previously?
did you find the BB a little high?
Would you like it a little lower?
How about 19mm lower? (wiassuming similar width tyres)

Answer that and you have your "virtual" answer.

Assuming you're buying a 29er fork of suitable axle to crown height it'll steer/turn a little differently than stock due to the axle offset/smaller wheels. You may or may not notice this. it's a fairly subtle change. (more noticable the slacker/lower the bike is IME).

You definitely could on the original Enduro 29.

Is the SJ's BB much lower than that as standard?
