Been that long since I fitted a tube - no major worries putting a 27.5 tube in a 26 wheel, right?
Nope. Infact many manufacturers have dropped 26 tubes and now make only 1 for both.
I wouldn't do it as a permanent solution but it should be fine to get you home. Longer term I'd have thought it would eventually fail due to rubbing, but there's only one way to find out.
Fine. We used a 650b in a 24" with no issues

27.5 ones are certainly cheaper
Cool, thanks all
Easy enough to feed the larger tube into itself so make it a smaller circumference to fit nicely in a 26" rim...it won't be difficult as it is, but you could make it a bit easier by feeding the inner tube in on itself to make it smaller.
I carry a 27.5 as a spare whatever bike I'm on. Fits all 3 sizes, got me and several others out of trouble many times.
I would rather use a 26 inch tube in a 27.5 tyre than vice-versa. The smaller tube will stretch, the larger tube will bunch up and fail.

I was going to start a thread to ask about this for a mullet bike. 27.5 it is 🙂

Yes, i carry a 27.5 tube in my pack, as all the bikes i use are different. 1 tube works for all.
