I have some Hope M4's that I'm trying to fit to a new set of PM forks. I have a 185mm floating rotor. I also have in my possession an Hope H adapter (PM-PM 183mm). Will this combo work?
I have a different avid 185mm adapter that came with an old set of juicy's. Would this be a better bet? It puts the calliper in a much different position than the Hope adapter.
I dint believe the caliper position matters as long as it clears the disc.
Tbh it's gonna be pretty close and down to the tolerances of the hope caliper and hope mount. I'd use it and add a washer under the caliper if it fouls the disk.
In fact that's exactly what I did putting a slx caliper and 180mm mount over a 185 avid disk 😉
Try the avid mount but Im pretty sure it actually raises a non avid caliper by less than the advertised height, because the avid caliper has a set of cup and cone washers between caliper and mount and they must be a few mm.
Try putting a couple of 1mm thick washers between PM and caliper unit; Ive done this in past and all seems OK, mechanically as long as majority of attachment bolt in PM, which with length bolt it should be, a couple of washers doesnt seem to affect integrity of setup; you may also just need 1 , try it and see
