The Malverns Classic is back again! There will be bikes, and dodgems, and retro bikes, and races, and bikes, and an airbag, and retro bikes, and DJs, and bikes, and… well, you get the idea. It’s a whole festival of fun, with bikes at its heart, but plenty of other fun stuff that helps make the world go round too. You can watch pros race and do tricks, take part in a race or two yourself, and enter your precious retro bike in the Gtechniq Retro MTB Show and Shine. Dance to a DJ set from the Prodigy’s Leeroy, and point as someone doesn’t make it across the Evans Cycles Lake Ride. With up to four days of bikey fun to be had, can you think of anything you’d rather be doing from 24th to 27th August?
Who’s in? If you want to be there, we’ve got a 20% off tickets deal for Singletrack Members until 31st July. A standard adult ticket is £108.90 for the weekend and includes festival entry, camping and parking. With the super secret discount code, it’s just £87.12 – a saving of £21.78. Now, maybe you’re going to go alone, but we reckon that you’ll be taking your children, or your friends, or your friends and their children (but not just your friends’ children, unless you’re some sort of childcare angel) – so there’s a lot more than £21.78 to be saved. If you’re not already a Member, a Singletrack Membership starts at £25 – and you get a whole year of mountain bike joy for that.

I came to Singletrack having decided there must be more to life than meetings. I like all bikes, but especially unusual ones.
More than bikes, I like what bikes do. I think that they link people and places; that cycling creates a connection between us and our environment; bikes create communities; deliver freedom; bring joy; and improve fitness. They're environmentally friendly and create friendly environments.
I try to write about all these things in the hope that others might discover the joy of bikes too.
Who is coming along to this? Anyone fancy some sort of meet up? I had been thinking airbag, but that might have to be a spectator sport now my shoulder is wonky 😞 Collective dribbling by the retro bikes? Heckling competition by the race track?
We will be there, two families with three mountain biking girls (age 9, 10 and 13), they are already popping with excitement 🙂 if there are other STW families and kids going, it would be ace to get the kids together for a play on stuff…
So just got back and had a luxury shit and shower.
First time I’ve been and a great weekend. As mentioned above I was a marshall and the guys organising it did an excellent job of herding us proverbial cats.
Hope I didn’t annoy too many people at the end of Enduro 1 & 2 😄
We’ve just got back and we all loved it, by far the most fun I’ve had at a festival 🙂 the kids loved it too. Especially the climb up to the start of the trails. Well, maybe not that bit. Although as my daughter pointed out, every time she thinks she doesn’t like a climb, all she has to do is think about the Malverns!
If you check out our instagram or YouTube page there are a pile of reels/shorts of retro bike stuff from the weekend. Even if you don’t think you like retro stuff I think they’re worth checking out for the enthusiasm of Dieter and Fahzure! I have a much longer video to string together too, but it’s going to take me a world of editing time so I have no idea when I’ll manage to get it made!
It was nice to meet a few readers! First time anyone has asked me for a selfie too, giving me the celeb feels 😂
A really great event for kids/teens (though I can imagine it would be a world more fun/less stressful if you took your own camping toilet rather than brave the temporary toilets with younger kids! 😵💫). Well worth digging that loved but slightly impractical retrobike out to roll around on too, if you like to talk about that sort of thing with random strangers!
