There has been a lot of talk about “unconscious bias” recently, largely relating to ultra-privileged people saying things they should not say. At Singletrack we are also guilty of this… but in a nice way.
You see, as a somewhat stout and substantial 100kg 6’2″ mountain biker, who also selects the merch for the Singletrack Shop, I found myself being unconsciously biased towards larger clothing.
When I first arrived at Singletrack the biggest T shirts fitted me like a time trial skinsuit… and that is not a good look on me and my dad bod belly. So, I always make sure we cater for the larger cyclist, but very much like many meals I cook… I seem to have over catered. It feels like it’s time to slim down our stock and have a Singletrack XXL sale.
So, is this really “unconscious bias”? I was totally awake and conscious at the time. Is unconscious bias real, or just a flimsy excuse used when you need to backtrack on an error you obviously and consciously made? Anyway…
Those of grand stature, grab yourself a bargain.
It’s time to make some space on the XXL shelves and do the big folks a nice bargain in the Singletrack XXL Sale. Listed below is all our discounted clothing in XXL. However, if you want to see all our clothing in a specific size we now have a size filter in the shop to make that easy for you.
Big Feet?
And now for some “conscious bias”. We recently did a roundup of big mountain bike shoes for big people with big feet. Since the age of 12 I have been super miffed at the lack of choice in anything over a UK size 12. If you are looking for mountain bike shoes in UK12, UK13 and even UK14 click the link below.
