If you like to ride the bike park or downhill parks in flats, then Specialized has 2 new updates tailored just for you.
Specialized Roost – £110
The Roost are a new flat-pedal shoe designed for riders wanting that casual skate shoe look, but requiring all-out grip when hitting gnarly downhill and enduro lines. The Body Geometry sole is designed in such a way that the footbed is ergonomically designed to boost power and increase efficiency.
Specialized uses a rubber compound called SlipNot for the sole which they say promotes ‘unsurpassed flat-pedal grip and connection’ while the upper is made of a canvas for a balance of comfort and protection.
The design is made to work on the bike but be stylish enough off the bike too and Specialized is offering the shoe in two colourways and a range of sizes from 36-49.
Specialized Gambit – £295
At the opposite end of your body, Specialized is also introducing the Gambit full-face helmet. This ASTM DH certified lid features a dual-density carbon shell to offer low-weight and full protection.
EPS foam and MIPs safety systems are on hand to deflect and absorb energy and rotating forces in the event of an accident, while large vents around the shell aim to keep cool air flowing for comfort.
As you would expect from a full-face lid, the Specialized Gambit is designed for use with goggles or glasses.
The carbon helmet will be offered in small, medium and large sizes and will weigh between 600 – 730g.
