Dorval AM teams up with UK start-up JR3DS for custom kit

Proof that you don’t have to be a multi-million dollar mega-corporation to get involved with a World Class Downhill team!

Starting your own brand from scratch can be a daunting task. Not only do you have to design and manufacture a product that people want, but you need to understand how to market that product, promote it on social media and get the media talking. It’s not easy, but as UK company JR3DS has proven, it’s not impossible either.

Fresh Goods Friday regulars might remember that we featured a couple of products from JR3DS a few months ago, but for those who don’t remember them here’s a recap. Based in Shropshire, JR3DS is a family-run 3D printing company that design and manufacture unique bespoke components. They use high-quality 3D printing techniques to create durable products.

Their passion for mountain biking has led them to develop some very cool bicycle-specific products. The most notable, and the one we featured, being their versatile 3D printed fork mounts that can be used to secure your bike in a van, on a wall, in a shed, a garage or pretty much anywhere you need to keep your bike safe and secure.

If you had already come across the company on social media you’ll immediately know that they’ve received a ton of support from UK riders, and now that support has gone international with a partnership with World Cup Downhill team Dorval AM. The Dorval AM team is one of the big names on the UCI World Cup with both the Women’s Champ and French National Champ making up part of their star-studded line-up.

The mounts created for Dorval use a full aluminium construction, rather than a 3D printed body, but are fitted with similar removable end caps to suit different axles. These are the latest product from the JR3DS studio and can be picked up for £74.99 which includes the end caps and shipping.

JR3DS is now an official partner of Dorval AM along with Commencal, Únic, Crankbrothers and many others.

We are blown away with the support and interest we’ve had from everyone since creating JR3DS last year and to now be supporting a World Cup winning team is absolutely bonkers.

Dorval Commencal and especially Camille Balanche have been amazing to work with and we look forward to a continued partnership with them now and in the future.

JR3DS

It must be an exciting time and an amazing opportunity for JR3DS, and perhaps a great inspiration for other small businesses and entrepreneurs hoping to get their moment in the spotlight.

Blokpod do very similar aluminium mounts for £30 each, same changeable end caps and design and 40% of the price. The plastic ones from these guys are that price.
