Software is all the stuff that goes on the rider, not the bike. It’s keeping you safe, warm, cool, dry, visible, and everything in between. We all have different requirements for our riding kit, but one thing we can all agree on is that comfort is key. It’s no good having a really waterproof jacket that you can’t bend your arms in, or a super safe helmet that nips your head and causes a headache. So let’s take a look at the items at the top of the kit list pile from this year.
Adidas Trailcross Mid Pro MTB Shoe

So comfortable you forget they’re on your feet, supportive right up to the ankle, protective thanks to the D30 panels, lightweight, fast drying, super grippy on foot and they really stick to your pedals. Boots can often be difficult to get on, but these aren’t. Boots can be bulky and rub your cranks, these don’t. They have been reviewed here, and since been included in Kit Essentials from issue 133.
