In a year when there’s been very little racing to watch, you may be glad to hear that there is live coverage of the UCI World Cup in Nové Mesto. Even better, it’s not hidden away on any pay-to-view channel, and doesn’t need you to figure out how to get your computer to pretend it’s in Belgium: it’s all on Red Bull TV, simples.
Free streaming of the World Cup stop off in the Czech Republic is live on Red Bull TV from 3:30pm Tuesday 29th September until Sunday 4th of October, with four races in six days.
With few clues as to riders’ form – who has been restricted to a turbo trainer, who has been free to pedal in the countryside? – the racing is set to be exciting. There should certainly be plenty of pent up racing desire. There is no overall World Cup title to compete for, but a World Cup win is not to be sniffed at – and offers a rare opportunity this year for riders to show sponsors what they can do.
Grant Ferguson and Frazer Clacherty line up on the men’s start list, while Annie Last, Isla Short, Evie Richards, make up a British trio in the women’s race. U23 men sees Charlie Aldridge and Sean Flynn, Harry Birchill and Dan Tullet representing Great Britain, while in the U23 women there’s Harriet Harnden and Anna McGorum. We’re also told that Tom Pidcock will be competing in the U23 men’s race, though he’s not listed on the official start list, so look out for whether he’s on the start line or not.
