Looking for the ultimate tyre lever? CushCore releases the Bead Dropper

by 17

Thought you had the best tyre lever on the market? Well, think again as CushCore releases the Bead Dropper, the ‘Ultimate Tyre Lever’!

CushCore tyre inserts are a great addition to any bike, but unless your a wizard with your fingers and thumbs they can be a bit of a challenge to correctly install.

The ultimate tyre lever!

With this in mind, CushCore has designed and developed the Bead Dropper, a super rugged tyre lever that will make fitting CushCore inserts and tyres a breeze, it especially helps to when dropping the bead into the rim channel, a critical step for correct tyre installation.

As you can see in these photos, the Bead Dropper is a much more significant looking tool than the tyre levers that we usually see. The design features a “thumb flange” making it very easy to apply pressure to the tyre bead, while the sturdy plastic lever makes the tool strong enough for use on thick downhill tyres.

The plastic construction won’t mark rims, while a rubberized handle makes it “The most comfortable tire lever you’ll ever use”.

Watch the video below to see how easy the CushCore Bead Dropper makes tyre installation.

If you fancy one of these for yourself then you can order the Bead Dropper online here. Pricing is £19.99 which is a great price for stress-free tyre installations, saved thumbs and for a tool with a lifetime warranty.

£20 for two bits of plastic?
Sorry, Park do one for £4.99 a pair with wide ‘thumb lip’ thing…and a spoke hook built in.

That’s hilarious. How the hell can they sell that for £20. I use a similar looking lever for my mx tyres and it cost a fiver.

If it helps me break the bead/rim seal, which I find an absolute nightmare then I’m in.
    Proper review please.

I’ll stick with the Pedro levers

    £20!!!!
    I’m oot!

Ive had tyre levers from Park and Pedros amongst many others – all have been outlasted by the 2 quid decathlon ones!!

At £20, I’d tell them to shove it up their arse. Looks like they’ve prepared for that with it’s design…

Quality costs. Cheaper ones just snap and bend. This looks quality.

Pedro’s are fine and a 10th of the price

Has anyone commenting about cost etc tried fitting cushcore with an awkward tyre? £20 to make it easy is a bargain iMO. If it really does work. Especially for getting tyres off.

It’s very hard to push down into the bead well with a normal tyre lever – a proper handle would be a big advantage.
I too vote a proper review – please guys.

The video clearly shows the Bead Dropper dropping beads but their blurb also states it is a tyre/tire lever. Surely the crux of whether a tyre lever works well is whether of not it can lever a bead over the rim, not whether it can be used to push down a bead from the rim?
I’ve tried all sorts of plastic levers and most of them bend making them as much use as a chocolate teapot. At that point I get out motorbike tyre irons and a strip of old inner tube as protection against marking my alloy wheels (remember those?).

What John says- that video was useless, no demonstration of use as a tyre lever.

    Decathlon levers are a bargain.

Seems like most times someone tries to make a better lever, they get fixated on making it burly and strong and make the hook really fat, which makes it harder to fit tyres. Lezyne Powerlever which goes the other way works way better on tight tyres- it’s not as strong but you’re not trying to crowbar the tyres on

If I has a shop and was fitting cushcore a lot ( or swapping tyres all the time on my own bike and running cushcore) I think i’d do a dance of joy ! (actually I do run cushcore and change tyre lots…)

I got fed up bending normal nylon tyre levers (park, SKS), on my very tight combo of trail boss and deemax elite. I’ve gone with the £6 X tools steel core levers, keep the normal one on the bike and the extra long in the tool box. No exposed metal, I have always got the tyre on and off (how much swearing when I fitted the tyre back to front with a rimpact?!), and cheap

20 quid for a tyre lever FFS, How long will the extortionists believe they can have us over?
As above £6 for steel cored plastic works a treat!!??!!

Amused that their video says it can remove tyre and insert from rim but doesn’t show it. Instils no confidence for me!
