If you’ve not heard of it before, 30 Days of Biking is a personal challenge with a charitable edge. People pledge to ride their bike every day in April, and for every two that do, 1USD is donated to World Bicycle Relief. This year we have five riders attempting the challenge.
Day 4
Monday. Not just any Monday, but, following the Easter Bank Holiday, the first Monday at work for a couple of weeks, and the start of a proper five day week at work. Sweet unbridled joy. Were our riders feeling it?

‘I think, I think there may be some symbolism here….that bird is really a dove asking us for world peace’. Actually this is not a Bernie Sanders campaign trail moment: it’s a crumb-seeking robin’s mountain bike trail moment, taken in the village (Peaslake) where everyone stops for tea and cake.

From the sublime moorland of yesterday to the ridiculousness of city commuting. Small wheels, big pot holes, inconsiderate drivers and me being the filling in a bus sandwich. Not exactly fun, but I rock pink!

Rest day from “training” so rode the train like a chump and biked to work and back from the station. Only about 10km in total. Then spent some quality time removing most of the Pennine Bridleway from the crevices of my bike. mmmm gritty.

Morning: commuting tribute to the Ronde Van Vlaanderen. Afternoon: commuting tribute to stupidity. Left my keys in the office – whole family locked out of house.

Making the most of an Ersatz Easter by getting out on the local trails while everyone else is at work!

I love this time of the year when leaving work and riding home in the daylight still has a novelty value after the dark evenings of the winter months.
Keep pedalling…
On balance not a bad day for our riders. And yes, we might occasionally moan that we are having to ride every day, but imagine if we couldn’t ride, on any day. Well known industry insider Michael Bonney faces just that problem – if you fancy helping him get pedalling again, click here.
