Seeing as Revelate Designs is best known for their on-bike luggage, it was a surprise to see the booth’s resident inflatable penguin wearing a hydration pack.  Designed specifically for cold-weather riding and racing, the Wampak is an inversion of typical water portage, removing insulation between the rider and bladder to keep liquids from freezing in Alaskan cold. The back of the pack is lined with thermally-reflective fabric and the hose can be routed under the rider’s arm (warm) rather than over the shoulder (cold).

The low-profile pack is designed to fit under outer layers and quick-disconnects mean that the Wampak can be removed without the rider taking off their coat.  The pack should be available from January, 2016 with pricing yet to be set.

In other news, Revelate bar bags have moved to welded (as opposed to sewn) seams.  The Terrapin seat pack (shown above) has been stiffened to add structure and abrasion resistance.  Buckles have been relocated so as to tighten when pulled upward and a bleed valve has been added to allow air to escape the dry bag, reducing bulk.
