In answer to enduro racers’ needs Bell has stepped up to the plate and released a new helmet complete with removable chin guard.

The Bell Super 2R has a lot of the same features as the Super but updated; there’s a large visor that’ll easily accommodate goggles under it, and a detachable camera mount that’s been moved slightly back to make sure it doesn’t interfere with the visor.

The Super 2R uses three ski style buckles to create a removable chin guard that’s very quick and easy to take off for climbs. Bell reckons with the move to bigger travel trail bikes and the adoption of pads for ‘normal’ riding the use of a full face helmets for descents is starting to make more and more sense.

Having had a quick play with the helmet, it’s impressive just how easy the removal and refitting of the chinguard is and just how solid and secure it all feels once fitted. Three colourways are available: black/grey, white/black and, if you’re not the shy retiring type, an incredibly fluoro orange.

No UK pricing yet but we’ll update on that and timescales for availability once we’ve heard more.

And finally, here’s a video in case that all sounded far too complicated:
