Pedalsport are running a Thursday evening race series this summer at Rockingstones Quarry near Golcar. This is a low key MTB series aimed at both new and experienced racers. There are 5 rounds with best 4 to count. You only have to enter the ones that you wish to race.
We have built a semi permanent course within a disused Quarry with the permission of the owners Myers group. The course is mainly loose stone and rock with a grass section around the top to slow everyone down there are some nice technical features with the races riding the drainage gullys each lap and in and out of the quarry working. The course is safe and anyone who rides a Mountain bike will NOT be out of their depth with the XC lap.
Prize money will depend on amount of entries but all the entry money will be going to the prize fund and there will be a good old prize presentation piss up locally on Thursday 19th August
Entry is £10, you get 50ish minutes to do as many laps as possible with electronic timing on each lap, and the winner is the rider who goes the furthest the fastest.

also you must check out there shop in kings cross in an age where small shops are struggling to keep up with on-line retaliers in price & stock pedal sport is like an aladins cave very well stocked.

Pedal Sport is my local shop. Always been VERY good when I’ve been in for wheel rebuilds (1 year now for my rear which hasn’t needed a spoke key near it since including a week in Verbier!) and to beg/borrow bike boxes etc. They are partial to biscuits though in return!
