Follow Me Cinema Tour: Extra Dates Announced

by 8

The Glasgow International Bike Film Festival have announced additional dates and the chance to win some pretty special prizes as part of the UK and Ireland cinema tour of the new film from the team behind The Collective, Roam and Seasons. Following on from the sell out success of Seasons in 2008, this year’s tour is being supported by giving access to more venues than ever before, including Ireland for the very first time. It also means that viewers will get the chance to enjoy free Red Bull and Red Bull shots at many of the venues.

Second date announced for London…

A second date has been announced for London on Thursday 27th May at the Prince Charles cinema (, the day after the first screening. Demand for tickets for the London screening has been phenomenal to the extent that the first screening has already sold out three weeks before the screening. As a result, a second screening is scheduled for Thursday 27th of May with tickets going on sale on line and from the Box Office from Friday 7th May. Demand is expected to be very high with the cinema advising that tickets should be bought well in advance as another sell out is expected.

Big prizes announced for several of the screenings…

The tour relies on the generosity and support of independent bike shops and people within the bike industry to make the screenings happen. As such, several of the screenings will be holding charity raffles on the night.

Screenings where you can win some pretty special prizes include…

Ambleside and London – two winners will be the very first in the country to get their hands on a 10 speed Shimano mountain bike groupset as well as a host of PRO signature series accessories(prizes courtesy of Albert at Madison, and

Brighton – prizes courtesy of Dom and the team at

Sheffield – prizes courtesy of Scott at and Simon at

Bath – A big after screening party and prize raffle is planned courtesy of who has previously brought sell out mountain bike film screenings to The Little Theatre Cinema.

The organisers are keen to hear both from riders and from those in the bike trade wanting the film brought to their area or who would like to use the tour to help promote and can be contacted at

The Film…

“Featuring British rider and 2008 UCI DH World Champion Gee Atherton amongst a host of familiar faces, Follow Me is a modern portrait of mountain bike lifestyle, getting back to basics and reminding us why we all love to ride bikes. Breaking from the traditional single rider format, Follow Me is based on the idea that ìno one rides aloneî; mixing and matching the worldís best downhillers, freeriders and slopestylers in some of the best places to ride on the planet.

“Think back yard sessions, ripping local trails, training bike parks, epic road trips and heli drops. Follow Me is all about good times, pushing limits with your friends, crazy adventures and most importantly having fun your bike.
Follow Me will change the way you see mountain bike films and get you stoked to get off the couch and ride!”

Riders: Gee Atherton, Sam Hill, Darren Berrecloth, Ben Boyko, Brendan Fairclough, Geoff Gulevich, Matt Hunter, Cam McCaul, Brandon Semenuk, Steve Smith, Kurt Sorge, Thomas Vanderham.
