A new weather forecast system has been set up to provide hill walkers (and mountain bikers) with clearer, more up to date information to help keep them safe whilst still enjoying the great out-doors.
This is the first time that the Met Office will provide a clear specific forecast for the Dales National Park – adding to their already comprehensive forecasts which cover the Brecon Beacons, Peak District, Snowdonia, Lake District and the Highlands.
The forecasts will be colour coded to help highlight certain hazards and specific risks and will be updated twice daily to keep enthusiasts informed on the risks of precipitation and will include the latest synoptic chart.
