I've driven my bike into a height restrictor and it just came out of the roof rack with some slight damage to the front wheel. I'd bet a DH frame is stronger than the wheel/frame fixings on a bike carrier?

aahhhh the memories, happened to me about 20yrs ago whilst riding an orange prestige (remember them?) - had a dramatic momentum cancellation whilst going down alter lane in bingley (got pushed into a drainage ditch and big rock by riding companion)
the frame ended up folding itself at the points on the tubing where the internal butting occured
looked identical to the OP's picI think keith lambert's still has a photo of it in his workshop!
odd thing was - only had to write off frame - forks, wheels etc all good and true!
