Looking to buy a budget telly for the work flat, say about 200 quid. Will just be using it as a telly so not bothered about extra scart leads or additional inputs etc.

Any opinions on here where the best buys are at?

    Cheers

Dixons, Currys and PC World (same shops under different names) and Comet.

Also watch out for online promotions on their website-I save 20% last year using online offers and ppl were still buying it at full price in store even when I told a guy to use the online offer!

Got ours from Amazon. Loads cheaper at the time, but that was a couple of years ago.

    Richer sounds

    Usually very competetively priced

    Why? Never knowingly undersold.

Richer Sounds defo worth a look – they often have ex display or marked stuff going cheap too.

I was thinking about the John Lewis list/MP second homes thing when I read

Perhaps I thought into it too much!

Aldi have got a 26" for £250, no experience myself but looks well specced and 3 year warranty.

I've just bought one from Dixons on-line.

They were the cheapest for the model I bought (22" LCD Samsung. About £220)

Go to Currys, choose the one you like and put the code in Pricerunner.
I just got a 50" Panasonic Vierra for less than 600 quid from Pixmania, it was about 900 quid in Currys!

and put the code in Pricerunner.

Or try Google Shopping (small tab on top left of page) then sort by lowest price first. I usually find the best prices through them without all the dead/out of date links PriceRunner et al throw out.

I always tend to go for Richer Sounds for stuff like that as they always seem to be competitive but havent brought a TV for 2 years…hmmm that seems a long time I wonder if she will let me get a new one as it is old technology now….

get 'em to price match, has to be a shop not internet only, but doesn't have to be local, and then get the 5 year warranty too
