I’m rubbish at politics by believe it’s important to place a vote. So I want a simple unbiased summary to help me make my choice.

You wont find unbiased reporting. Dont forget the whole point of the parties is to get voted in and they control the rules of that game.

No one checks if their plan adds up.
They all know they need to win marginal seats, so campain for those.

Basically you have the choice of a toff, a lapdog, a prefect or a bigot. You simply have to find the one that you find least repugnant!

I’l summarise them for you right now.

Conservative: like the name suggests they’re not keen on change. Tend to be thought of traditionally as good with money but not keen on doing things that benefit the common man.

Labour: Traditionally socialist, who knows what they represent now. They’re last government did do lots of good things for the common man such as introduced the min wage and ‘improved’ the benefits system (lol) but took us to war under false pretenses.

Lib dem: inbetween the two above and they all read the guardian. Considered pretty much ineffective!

Ukip: Racists! can you trust a party based on a single issue to run the country?

Green: Vegetarians! can you trust a party based on a single issue to run the country?

SNP: eat haggis and hate the english

Plaid Cymru: eat leeks and hate the english, but not as much as the scots.

*tongue firmly in cheek btw and I’m scottish too and yes I eat haggis all the time, yum yum*

OP with this election we have a longer build up than normal as the parliament is fixed term. As above manifestos not all published yet. I would suggest you read the actual documents when they are published, easy these days on the internet. The BBC is as impartial as you’ll get in terms of summaries and reporting

Politicians don’t really have manifestos any more. Just a series of vague, non-committal, easily deniable mood noises, and half-promises, that can be dropped like a steaming turd the second they’re in power

Just took the test it’s 83% UKIP with 17% Conservative.

Therefore, shall I deport myself since I am a Johnny Foreigner in GeordieLand (remind me of the song English man in NY by a singing Geordie bloke that I cannot understand …) … 😆

Just did that and what I found interesting was the % for people in my post code (New Forest). Conservative came in 3rd with UKIP a close 4th. Very surprised as this is such a safe conservative seat. There must be a heavy bist of people who take the test vs people who vote!

Tried the whoyoushouldvotefor site and I am overwhelmingly LibDem. 😯

Indeed – apparently I’m also Green. Reviewed my answers and about the only one I can see which tends that way is not wanting HS2 – for example I disagree with 50% top rate tax and abolishing HoL. Very strange.

Even more interesting I tried to give UKIP answers and it suggested I vote Conservative.

OK, I’ve tried again with voteforpolicies – 33% LibDem, 22% each for Labour, UKIP and Tory. I’m the kind of guy who will have a coalition with anyone!

Certainly interesting seeing the policies set out in that way. Quite a few occasions I was going down a list and going “yes, yes, yes, NO WAY….”
