I’m looking to replace the awful rear hub on my Bonty wheels. The wheels are otherwise great – light and wide and seal tubless really well so I’m not looking to replace the wheelset.

I had looked at getting another Pro 2, but can’t really spend £130 on just the hub when they’re serviceable and clicky but not especially quick to engage.

also realised they’re 28 spoke, so I may not be able to be very picky 🙁

Want: 28 spoke… cartridge bearings, RELIABLE, rapid pickup… er… black.
Don’t want: to have to change spokes, ball bearings (sorry Shimano)

    so what’s worth considering?

Nukeproof generators have a nice pickup and cartridge bearings but still bring me to the £100 mark.

DMR Revolvers looks CNC’d and groovy but have different sized flanges, which probably means using the same spokes has been poo-poo’d.

However there is a 6-pawl DMR Revolver, which looks better.

    Halo Spin Doctors are cheap.

How much different is the flange size on the DMRs? Spoke length changes very little with flange size (‘cos the spokes join the hub at the sides, not straight in)…
