There for a couple of days next week, staying right in the centre, going to have some free time to mooch around during the day, busy at night.

wander round the parliment buildings and the royal palace area is quite impressive. Nice place and people.

Is the Ice bar still open? A swift drink in there is well worth the novelty.
Second the dark glasses, tall slim blondes in the swedish uniform of tight jeans and knee length boots (although everything seemed to start after midnight if you want to try the nightlife).
Booze is stupidly expensive and can (unless it's changed since i went there around 5 years ago) only be bought at state run off-licenses (which shut at 1pm Sat until Monday morning!) or out in bars and hotels.
Interesting place to spend a few days.

Am gonna expense as much as is decent. Am honestly there with clients.
Parliament sounds good but could be a bit chilly. Might find a nice bar and settle down with a book.

Three of us.
Already slightly pished.
About £800 pounds later, we left. Who knew decent claret was that expensive in Sweden?
My boss at the time referred to it as me "Expensing the shit out of it".

The big boat thing is the Vasa museum - it's very impressive if only for the fact that anyone ever believed that it wouldn't immediately turn turtle and sink.
The folk museum is Skansen - agree it's well worth some time.
The medieval centre is the Gamla stan and also worth a wander
The Opera cafe used to be the late night haunt but I am well out of date.
Alcohol is incredibly expensive, although I seem to remember that there was a very weak beer that beat the tax regulations. How little alcohol it had can be judged by the fact that it was cheaper volume for volume than the bottled water.

Go for a walk (or cycle or skate) on Djurgarden. Easy walk from Ostermalmstorg metro or basically anywhere in the centre.
<edit>The Vasa museum is also good. Think Mary Rose but sunk on its maiden voyage</edit>
