The front shifter on my road bike has started jamming and i’m looking for some inspired solutions.
It works fine without a cable but once it is cabled up it jams and won’t down shift (its just had new inners and outers fitted so its not old/manky cables)
I thought Brad at The Bike Chain had fixed it *my hero* – he noticed the mechanism was twisting and tightened the wee screw at the back of the shifter that holds all the internals in place. This worked but, when my bf was re-fitting it last night and setting up the gears, it went again. The screw has worked loose again. I take it we can’t remove the screw to loctite it? Any other ideas?
I’ve a replacement on its way but I’d quite like to send it back if I don’t have to use it. The shifter is only 6 months old so I will hopefully be able to get it replaced under warranty but this won’t help for racing this weekend! 😥
