I am booked on the Transalp this year and have started the hieous process of sorting out accomodation etc. Does anybody have any practical expericne of the following;

1.I plan on flying so will have a bike bag – can this ben taken to the end stage so we can fly home from Italy or does flying in comit us to return to Mittenwald for a return flight.

2.If we get the coach back to the start I assume the bikes follow separately. Will the bikes arrive at roughly the same time as us or will there will be a long wait while the bikes turn up.

3.We are trying to arrange hotesl in the stage towns but some are some way from the finish line – will there be any easy way of getting the heavy bag from the finish area to the hotel – some of these towns are pretty small and there may not be any taxis.

4.If the logistics for flying become too difficult I may drive it – is there anywhere to park in Mittenwald for a week and how easy is the drive there.
