My Cannondale T700 (1996) with custom Dave Yates forks.
Shown at the entry to Glen Artney.
My Trek 520 (1993 with 65,000 miles on the clock now).
Shown in a snowy field on a 78-mile ride from Pitlochry to Stirling in sub-zero conditions.
Ton, did you ever find a touring frame? What size were you after?
Ton - the Stonerpomps on tour.

BTW if you're quick theres an XL kaffenback (effectively 135mm geared version of the pomp) in the corner sale for £99 at PX
great versatile touring frame IMO.

i intend to tour this over the summer - kona hahanna:
On the ferry to Rotterdam, Nov 2008.
My touring bike is... borked.

It had a good innings though. 2x cross seasons, the HONC, the South Downs Way (laden), London to Brighton Off-road, Bristol to London, a few Audaxes, and daily hacks into town.. and that's not counting its two previous owners.
Me on my Orbit Gold medal, taken by the other half on her Orbit Gold Medal on a nice weekend on Arran at the end of last year.

the mighty fully loaded touring cycle gallery!
I wonder...
Just bought a Boardman hybrid, will that be a good touring bike y'think or will i need a triple chainset?
Bike will take racks etc.
Muddydwarf, it depends a lot on what style of tourer you are. If you're a kitchen sink type who takes everything they need to be self-sufficient and prefers to plod along slowly, a triple would suit. If you're reasonably fit, not too heavily laden and prepared to give it some grunt, a compact is fine even in fairly hilly areas.
kona Sutra somewhere in oirland by a loch/lough/lake

In Hornsea at the end of the TPT:

Now repainted as it had a few battlescars as it also gets used as a commuter

Great bike, very stable both loaded and unloaded, comfortable to ride but wieghs a ton. It is probably the bike I would keep if I had to bring the fleet down to 1. Also fits up to 42c tyres.
I use a surly lht for most tours. A surly big dummy for fully loaded tipi tours. And really like the new salsa vaya. I saw one at a trade show last week and they are disc'd and lovely.
Not into touring myself yet. Thats for 2011 for me.
When i do it though it may be a Cross Check and Mastercard or Long Haul Trucker.
will decide next year.
Did somebody mention Orbit Gold Medals? Mine is an '85 vintage, been refinished a couple of times and is now like Triggers Broom. Just the frame, bars and chainset are original:

P.s. Sorry about the location, though it is a nice area
The Sutra
As above - stable, flexible, but a bit lardy.
A replacement is already "in progress"
