  • Storing Suspension Forks?

My shiny new Boardman arrived today so my current bike is going to be going rigid as it’s a year round off road commuter and spends most of it’s life covered in mud and only gets cleaned very rarely . I’m thinking off putting my existing Reba forks onto the Boardman and putting the Rebas off that into storage until I need them. So are there any issues with that and should I remove all the air and would there be any advantage to storing them in any particular orientation?

I have a pair of 2002 SIDs that have hardly lost any pressure in 9 years…so I wouldn’t worry about storing them with no air in.
Most suspension forks have a foam ring at the top, so storing them inverted helps keep this soaked in lovely fork oil.

Other than that all I do is wipe down and spray finishline dry lube onto the stantions.

Thanks CHB, I’ll just give them the occasional squirt of fork juice then and keep them upside down.
