On the 2nd of August the SouthernXC Series visits Alton for round 5. This year we're using a new venue and new course. From a wide open arena field you drop for over 1 mile on twisting singletrack. Then you wind round the woods for a further 3.5 miles on sweet singletrack and fire roads, before returning to the arena. The SMBC team are delighted to announce that we've been chosen to run the National Champs in 2010 and Alton will be the venue. Plans are already being made for what will be next year's biggest and best XC event. This year's southern champs is your last chance to ride the Alton course before next year's nationals.

As usual you can enter on the day or at http://www.southernxc.com .There will be camping available for those of you travelling far.

For those of you chasing ranking points, this is the southern champs round, meaning it carries the same points as a round of the national series. You don't need a licence to enter though.
