Pub-bikes, SS bike porn, anything inbetween. Inspire me with your fixies / SS road machines.

This was my old one from when I was a courier. Custom made in Canada and used for razzing around Sydney. The only bike I regret getting rid of.

This is my current commuter. Nothing fancy, no frills, cheap as chips. It's got a rack now and black grips.

I have a white Genesis Flyer like this but with a set of DT RR1.2 rims instead of the Alex that came with it. It also has a set of Crud raceguards on it for those wet days I don't want to take my Cervelo out. It has covered hundreds of miles and been faultless. I keep thinking of selling it to help fund a new MTB but can't bring myself to get rid of it.

not technically a road one but it gets used on and off road 😉

No pics I'm afraid, but I've got a Genesis Skyline (like the flyer but with 'guards and rack mounts)
Full-length SKS guards and I've been using Midge bars on it. Had a bit of a drivetrain upgrade: Goldtec track hub, EAI 1/8" polished stainless steel cog, 1/8" stainless chain and Gerbhardt 1/8" track ring.
Will be selling it very soon. If anyone's interested, email is in my profile.

The Skyline has slightly more relaxed geometry than the Flyer. Ideal commuter / winter trainer. You should shift that very easily I reckon.

Holdsworth Equipe. Original bike given to me by a friend – it was his boyhood bike. I did the fixed build – photo'd the night it was finished.

Charge Plug Freestyler with Slice bars 😀

bit of a mix and match, based on a Viking frame with replacement coppi forks that were replacement for the old bent ones. it now has tan bartape and a tan charge spoon. used for riding to work but I did manchester to blackpool on it last yr in 3hrs. 48/16 gear that will soon be 49/16 because that chainring bent itself somehow

Steve, your Charge looks awesome! I've wanted a Plug for ages, dunno if I'd get on with a road-style bike though as I don't like long top tubes/low bars :\

Thurman's bike is nice. Great bars.

Proper road bike was this, gone now, regretted selling.

After that any number of pompino's have done lots of tarmac.

    Penance Ultraniche SS69

Cobbled together from my attic for this year's SSUK.

Belt drive, magic ratio. Drum brake front, rear to be drum when I get the rim to match the front.

Look here for pics of the belt drive conversion.

    Cheers,

The top tube on a plug is pretty short per size, even with a 100mm stem and those bars it's shorter than my road bike, quite upright almost.

Go for it you'll love it

    Cut and shuttastic. 😀

Maybe I'll buy a cheap steel frame to try a similar thing on. Don't think I'll be sawing through one of my Ti frames though. 😉

Roughly how much were the belt and cogs?

Stu you could also do it with a S&S coupling if you can braze (or no someone who can).

Yeah I've just looked at the geometry, looks like the medium is actually a little shorter than my trailstar!

Think I'd rather cut the dropout than the seat/chain stay.

I've seen the flat section on a Surly dropout cut and shut quite neatly.

Here's mine, Marin Lucas Valley frame, Halo Aerorage wheels and Avid V's. Needs a bigger chainring, which will be black and possibly allow me magic ratio 🙂

That's an expensive over-engineered way to do a simple job and no stronger than the simple job.

About 220 Euros all up from Nicolai in Germany

Simon1975 – how do you get on with hills with that gear size or is it fairly flat where you are?

Hi Ed that'll probably be the only road ride I'll do this year! Nottingham to Skegness is very flat so it was perfect. It's usually 39:16 with cyclocross tyres (check my Flickr), and I can get up almost anything.

I got this from here about a year ago. It looked okay in the pics but every thing was very tired out in the real world. Not to worry

It was the frame I was after, the only things I haven't replaced are the bars.
I loves it. Fixed or free its all the same.

After I had given it some TLC.

Winterised and how it stands today.
