Photo from 2 years ago but currently has a thicker covering of mud after a muddy raid on the Wyre.
Though has had a PBR upgrade to my Lefty since then too. Carbon Lefty Max 140 PBR on my Prophet:

… oh and mudguards, I wish I could say I’m sorry but I’m not.

Obviously Leftys look VERY cool, but do they actually have any advantages over conventional forks??

(Cue claims of increased sex appeal, gnarr etc, etc, etc… 🙂 )

Very light, stiff and track well, oh, and they look kinda cool…

    z1ppy
    Full Member

Well mine is a 140mm fork that is as stiff as my 20mm bolt thru forks, & only weighs 1.5Kg.

But the main advantage is they turn normally stable ppl into ranting savages who just can’t understand why I (we’d) run one.

Oh and you get to tell ppl (all the kids) that you couldn’t afford the other half…

There’s a pic on mtbr of a Soda with a Lefty on it. Two of the best constituent bike parts in the world, IMHO. Just a shame the servicing/ bearing reset is such a ballache. 🙁

    Servicing: yes. Bearing reset: no.

One of mine is currently at Noah’s Ark in Stroud for servicing. I’ve used thumbprint tuning as well and the service has been excellent.

They look awesome, particularly Painey and Kierans Cannondales.

For servicing I use Tony @ Thumbprint tuning, don’t see the hassle with bearing resets either.

Mine’s probably being put up for sale this week as it goes. Cant quite decide whether to keep it along with what I hope to buy or see what someone’s willing to pay for it. Either way, fantastic bike.

    Leisure Lakes in Derby.

Apparently the 2013 forks have self-centring bearings (so don’t need bearing resets) and dispense with the rubber boot round the bottom too.

My Nicolai RC. it don’t weigh much.

Bearing reset on the 2012’s is a 5min job. Obviously not having to do it at all would be better.

My 29er PBR and rest of bike. First Lefty I’ve owned and I love it!

Lefty Servicing: I had to send mine to TF Tuned (via LBS) for a warranty issue (they are the “official” Cannondale UK service agents). Phoned them up after to discuss and they were very helpful. I was impressed. Will definitely use them again when it’s service time.

My old raven with its lefty. I prefer Fox forks to be honest. The looks were the only real plus side for me. I didn’t like the way it pulled to one side when no hands, minor point but a bit annoying.

I just don’t ‘get’ them. How can it possibly work?

‘Tis the work of the Devil, if you ask me.

The same as any other fork but uses needle bearings in a “square” as oppose to round leg.

I kind of miss mine, miss the lack of weight with teh carbon one but just didnt like how it dived on slow rocky stuff.

Resetting the bearings is critical too, eventually it will knock the hell out of the internals if you dont and kill them. It amazes me how many people out there have a set and still dont know that the bearings need resetting regularly

I’m sure you could have got the bottom bit of the mono-fork/strut done too! I know there detachable as I had them swapped between my two (damaged disc tabs)

Struck lucky on ebay ,I think they are a standard sticker which just happens to match the frame colour.

Trying to fill a few niches with the PA,Lefty,Gripshift and 2×9 drivetrain.
