Guys
Ive just put a new Deore Top Swing Front mech on and the cable attachement thing is on the top, where as my older mech (same model, older version) was on the bottom. I just cant see where to thread the cable its confuzzled me like mad.
Anyone help? Pics avail?

which way does your cable route? from the top or the bottom? Top swing is a sort of mech rather than a cable route.
Isn't there a sort of pulley that you loop the cable round - its so the same mech can be used top pull and bottom pull.
I know the two types of swing. My cable cames frim the underneath, i.e under the bottom bracket. I just cant seem to see where a route the cable on the mech :S
Cable comes up from the bottom bracket area, then over a pulley which is immediately behind the seat tube. The cable sits between a couple of little sticky-out lugs which stop it from falling off sideways. Cable then comes down to the clamp like it would if the cable was top routed.
