    Oh dear.

I've just sheared off the cable clamping bolt on my rear mech.
Now I don't have a drillbit strong enough to cut through the bolt to get it out that way, so would hacksawing a slot through the mech and remaining bolt weaken the mech in any way to cause failure?
Last thing I want to do is have the mech dismantle itself the first time I change gear.. 😆

    Cheers in advance folks.

I think cutting a slot would mean that when you tightened the new bolt the slot may widen making the bolt loose.
It's worth trying a small drill bit with the drill in reverse, there may be enough friction on the bolt for it to slightly undo giving you just enough to get a pair of pliers onto or be able to cut a slot and use a screwdriver….
