That looks like an Alpinestars
Always wanted one of these. Although I think they were meant to be a bit pants.

Sorry, I have to disagree with everything they have said/done, their number 1 road bike has a triple on it.

Manitou FS. Had one, it was ace.

Alpinestars? Are you a bit mental?
More like a Dean or Clark Kent to me.

Alpinestars? Are you a bit mental?I may be. But this was what came to mind. Minus the early 90s paint job

Other e-stay brands were/are available!
(No offense meant earlier, BTW, I hope none was taken!)

None taken. It just a pleasure to look at all these old bikes.

matthewjb, Butterscotch Tioga Psycho

This is the holy grail of retroheads;

Have you seen the prices they get? WOW!Posted 4 months ago # -
Not retro but I'll get in quick with mine before Ade Ward comes along

Too much to take in there.
Never knew that Marin built a twin shock frame.

I wish I'd bought a few sets at the time. Although a tyre that wore out after a few rides never seemed a good idea.

what's that, mick_r?

Thanks mjb! posting from a phone fail.
I have one of these frames in the garage:-)

Never knew that Marin built a twin shock frame.
From memory they used the Manitou shocks front and rear.

I also had one of these
with white Porcs. Gayest. bike. ever.
(PC disclamer Gayest is not meant in any defamatory way)

Home made low slung E-stay singlespeed 29er. Works a treat and not broken yet (been using it since June)...... Blobbily fillet brazed, Columbus tubing.
16" chainstays (on a 29er), slackish 70 deg head and large rake (55mm) Singular Hummingbird forks.
Rode it back to back with an Aluminium Trek Superfly 29er at Whinlatter during holidays - that thing felt positively ponderous. Climbs like a climby thing, no front wheel lifting and not twitchy at all - very happy with it. MK2 for next summer will be same basic dimensions tweaked to suit a suspension fork.

I nearly bought a 1993 Al-Mega - it was on my final shortlist but got pipped by the Kilauea.
But if it's 1993 and we want something that just rides perfectly and always will:

I wish I'd picked up one of the decathlon e stay frames when they were doing them, I've always fancied one.

That's a very nice bit of purple anodizing there, not in keeping with the excess of the day at all

A mate still rides his Dean.
It's a-n-other early 90s ti bike to me...nice decals tho.
