    Hi everyone,
I will be riding at Afan and surrounds over the bank holiday weekend, for the first time.
    Thats 29th to 31st May.
From experience always better to ride new places with locals who know all the good bits.
Anyone going to be there to show me around, or any advice would be appreciated.
    Cheers

Posting from afan (yay, if damp): the afan trails (whites, wall, skyline) are all way-marked m8, you can't get lost (well not without doing something very silly), no local knowledge required unless you want to go 'in country'

Going in country, and Afan, springs to mind one word.. 'Deliverance' 😆

As Z1ppy said, you'll be hard pushed to get lost. You can download PDF route maps from http://mbwales.com/en/content/cms/centres/afan_forest_park/afan_forest_park.aspx

There's now only 3 trails, the wall, whites level and skyline (the wall and whites can be joined up to make W2). As z1ppy said, it's very easy to follow; you won't get lost. You'll struggle to fill 3 days without repeating some of the trails TBH. The black on WL is fun (do a few laps). A local to guide you around the non-waymarked trails would be good. You could also stop off at Cwmcarn on the way (if on the M4). That would be my suggestion.

Theres plenty of good trails at Afan. W2 makes for a good days riding.

You can find most of the waymarked trails here:

As already mentioned Penhydd is closed at the moment though!

I can supply you the email of a guy we used to guide us around the afan area, brilliant guy, great laugh and really flexible to your needs. My emails in my profile and I'll reply with his details.

    Thanks chaps,
More than enough advice to go on now.
Lummox Thanks for that offer mate, but quite happy to go without a guide now.
    Cheers
