Right so I need to removed a thick layer of blood red paint from the exterior of my new house. I have no idea why the previous owners painted it that colour although the colour of the carpets suggest some form of colour blindness/mental disorder.
Is there some kind of product I can apply which will help me remove it?

Why Lol? Could have been exterior render / concrete, stone chip, christ the man could have cut stone walls with crenelate battlements for all you know.
Sandblasting or have it frozen off.

It also could have been made out of lego bricks too!
Does the thread title 'Removing exterior paint from brickwork' not imply that the paint might be applied to bricks?
Anyway - it'll kill you trying to get that off so either pay someone to sand blast it or paint it a colour of your choice (baby blue would be good, you don't see enough baby blue houses)
If its paint over any sort of glazed or surface-coated bricks then be careful that you don't take that layer off too - if you do then you risk the bricks loosing any waterproofness that they might have had, and your house will soak up water like a sponge when it next rains. Was the paint there to look nice, or keep the water out ?.

To look nice I think, there are a number of similar houses on the road with unpainted brickwork
is it gloss. my mate had a gloss burgandy house - weird.
I'll put my hand up to not reading the thread title properly there

as above - sandblast would be the only way as the surface is so uneven but I'd be careful as the bricks may have been painted to remedy damp ingress.
