I always see the old woman first and have to look for the young woman.

The classic Orbison illusion:
It's a bit boring, but I like it as it's related to the work I do:

I dunny get the Orbison one, it looks like a square in front of some lines. What's the illusion?

Glenh - what work do you do?
Posted 2 years ago # -
I like the sausage finger one. Keeps me occupied for hours.

Here's another version of the same illusion.

Everyone like this colour adaptation one too (you need to look at the cross for 30s or so without moving your eyes):

Like the last one, not sure what is going on in the first 2.

In the first the outline of the image is rectangular (an the red thing square), but doesn't look it.
In the second, the red lines are straight, but look bent.Posted 2 years ago # -
These are good too (there is no movement in this image):

Flying Christopher Walken:

And the running spirals:

i can only see the number (25) in the first circle.....

but then, i'm colour blind....

Lies.

Is she spinning clockwise or anti-clockwise? Are you sure?

that wife is spinning clockwise! i can't see it go the other way no matter how hard i look at it.
Edit: can see it now, its all to do with the shadow and the foot. that is freaky....

I just tried to get up and fell over.
Posted 2 years ago # -
I still can't see the waterfall donald!

Read the text under her and she seems to change direction
for me anyway.

aye, its the second foot shadow that was getting me.
I'm off for a lie down.
Posted 2 years ago # -
grahams - now that is just wrong, i'm now very confused, have you swapped that image in the last 5 mins to make her go the other way?
Posted 2 years ago # -
That spinning woman one is awesome i looked at it for 5min and clockwise couldn't make it go anti clockwise, then looked away briefly and its anti clockwise, i need a lie down

Don't have a scan of it but my bank account is a great optical illusion...at first glance on pay day I have money...blink and it's all gone...one minute it's there and the next it's not...

I'm not sure I really understand that rotating woman one.
It's certainly not a visual illusion in the true sense.Anyway, surely the direction is entirely dependent on whether you consider your view point to be from above or below?

There are no numbers in the rest of them....

Your supposed to look at the woman or it would say which way is the shadow spinning. No matter how I look at it it's always clockwise.

can't make her spin anticlockwise no matter how hard i try
i'm struggling with the waterfall as well
Posted 2 years ago # -
I can "make" the woman spin the other way, but I have to really concentrate, and that makes my head hurt
Posted 2 years ago # -
well bugger me, it only bloody works
stair at the shadow for a while, at first it looks like she is oscillating but then all of a sudden she's going the other way
momentary blink and she's back to clockwise again
Posted 2 years ago # -
I think I'm concentrating on the shadows nipple too much to get the full effect.
