I'm organising a trip to the Alps again this year for about a dozen blokes. Quite a few are interested in some sort of personalised object/ thing, to remember the trip with. Like a personalised disc rotor such as Hope (used to?) offer, or perhaps a headset tensioning cap like BETD make. Whatever we get must be subtle, so shirts are out. Any suggestions?

You could try contacting BETD about bespoke orders. Alpkit also sell CUSTOM STEM CAPS so they maybe also be able to help

You can pretty much get anything done with engraving but my thought would be a small part as getting a custom engraved set of xtr cranks each may be a little pricey.
