  • Painting melamine kitchen cupboards….good results??

Hi all. Someone has asked me if it’s possible to paint their melamine kitchen cupboards to smarten them up. Has anyone used the Dulux or Crown cupboard paint to a satisfactory result or are there better paints/methods available?
    Many thanks.

A 650 x 450 Vinyl door from these people costs me £16 plus VAT. An extra 50p for each hinge hole drilled and they make them to the size you order, accurate to the millimetre.

A massive choice of styles and colours and textures. From 115 x 296 up to 2400 x 996.

    Better and cheaper than paint.

I’ve painted wooden doors & drawer fronts (beware polyeurethane varnish) but I wouldn’t do melamine.

I think in the end there is no subject that hasn’t been discussed here. Maybe that’s a challenge

Yes, I may have primed them, I can’t remember.

Big John appears to use very expensive paint.

It’s not the paint (except the poly primer) it’s the time.

Use a simulated mohair roller & they should come out ok.
