as per title - does anybody have any experience with CRM software? Its not something I have dealt with before.
Needs to be easy to use/setup, Windows based - do web based systems exist?
Cheap or Free/open source would be better!!
Thanks in advance

Try sugercrm
We have an ancient version of ACT! at work, although it's owned by Sage now so it's expensive (£200).
Use SugarCRM CE in one of my business's does what's needed for that unit. Not sure if there is a windows based version we run ours on Linux.
What about salesforce.com?
How many users?
Tactile CRM starts at £6/user/month. All web based, so nothing to install at your end.
Tick
thanks folks - will have a look at those
Check out Salesforce.com... It's a very good system, but I've no idea how much it costs...
Zoho crm is worth a look. Decent free account too.
salesforce.com is really expensive but also really powerful. zoho.com used to be free for up to three users although it's ages since I looked at it.
If you're going to be doing telemarketing & eshots then this is very good: http://www.itmscrm.com/ (£40.00 pcm for the top pack). I sussed out that if you use Skype (£5pcm) you get 100 calls per day free, if you need more just set up a second or third skype account.
tell them I sent you
if you want to tie it all together with accounting, ecommerce, stock etc then http://www.brightpearl.co.uk is worth a look for a web based integrated solution. Might not tick your "cheap" box though depending on what you define as cheap.
Free CRM.. supposed to be quite good.
vtiger
Apart from SugarCRM, there's also Apache OfBiz: http://ofbiz.apache.org/
100% free, java based.
ZoHo#s the best cheap option as the account is free for 1-3 users.
I've used ACT - nice'n easy in the early versions, more than enough for a small company, Maximiser - not that struck, SalesLogix - a pain in the bum, SalesForce - needs lots of customisation, not cheap.
Yikes! Lots to look at there!
A bit more background - it would be for 1-3 users, but not all logging in at the same time, so might get away with just 1 and just have one user account (but I didn't say that, roight?)
It would be used for keeping a record of clients of a financial adviser, a record of the clients existing policies and being able to run reports to identify particular client groups etc.
I had a quick look at Tactile CRM last night, but didn't get very far with it - will have another look today.
SugarCRM and Salesforce look a bit like overkill for what I had in mind.
I'll have a look at some the other suggestions too.
Late reply, but if that's really all you need I'd go with Access. Or Excel.
Edit: Certainly don't go with OfBiz, massive overkill for what you need!
