We have a bathroom unit with 2 built in Halogen lights. This morning, neither of these lights works. I changed the bulb in one of the lights and still nothing.
I thought it was odd that both lights went at the same time and after changing the bulb, I am convinced the problem lies elsewhere.
I have checked the fuse box and everything looks OK - any thoughts?
Could be on a fused spur or even an MCB / RCD. Find where the wires go out of the bathroom to see where it's connected to the ring.
NB, I'm not a sparks, don't do anything if you aren't sure!
its probably the transformer presuming you have one...
Not a spark, but a bit of an ODD JOB man, if it was designed as a bathroom cabinet I think it should be low voltage lamps so yes there should be a transformer, if you have used a normal bulb or ones ovr the stated rating in it then its possible the transformer has broken down as Lyons suggests.
Just guess work mind you..
Most likely is a bulb has popped, arced in the process and taken the fuse out with it (assuming the circuit is fused locally as well as at the consumer unit which you say looks OK). However, could be any number of things - best call a spark if unsure. I am available in the West Mids if required
