gonna be a great atmosphere in a half empty stadium with a running track round the outside of the pitch for hammers fans 😆

Be by far the biggest ground in the Championship then.

I’m sure he’ll make good use of it.

I saw this on the bbc and was confused

I thought West Ham were keeping the athletic track in the stadium ?

I thought the oylpic committee had given the legacy of the stadium due diligence to get best value for the tax payer and that all was in hand.

Rather than have an expensive white elephant that has no commercial function after the few weeks of use during the olympics, they decided to build an expensive white elephant that is intended to be torn down, to be replaced with another structure!?!?

At one stage the olympic committee were telling potential buyers that the stadium had to remain as an athletics venue. How would that ever work commercially?

What a massive waste of public money!! Good old left wingers and their unfathomable profligacy and commercial naivety!

no they are keeping the running track and west ham say it will host 20 athletic events a year west ham are paying 95m to upgrade it

whether the owners will just sell the club at a massive profit like thakshin did with man city is another question

spongebob i am struggling to squeeze some coherent meaning from your post

Eh? West Ham won’t be knocking the stadium down. Spurs proposed that but it hasnt’ been accepted.

By holding athletics meetings, football matches, concerts and other events. Kind of like every other statium that isn’t owned by a football club.

What left wingers? Is that a football reference?

I’m a spurs fan and have mixed feelings over it.

But West Ham getting it is the wrong decision… I doubt that they will ever move in.

West Ham aren’t paying the £95m to updgrade.

£30m of the money is coming from the Olympic committee
    and
£45m is coming from Newham Council, which is one of the poorer councils in London

one of the poorer councils in London

they have a budget for this year of £294 million. Poverty is as you say relative but it’s quite a lot.

I guess the £45 million is coming straight out of their annual spend in one year though?

Best thing in that picture are the champions league placards, thought West Ham had been given it, obviously not.
Perhaps replace them with Johnstons Paint trophy signs

Mixed feelings as i’m a Leyton Orient supporter, think the legal wranglings will last a while
Worst thing for me is to have to keep seeing and hearing the Porn Brothers fat witch, vile woman

Interesting statement from Spurs about ensuring the winning bidder is legally obliged to keep the track.

I guess they think West Ham will quietly drop it now they’ve won.

I think we need an independent inquiry chaired by Lord Sugar.

The New Stadium is an anagram of West Ham United

I’m glad it didn’t go to spurs. Throughout the whole process Levy had been obscenely arrogant with a great sense of entitlement.

Probably better for some not to be going on about attendances.

I find it easier to skip his posts entirely and just assume he said exactly what a drunk, incoherent dail mail, sarah Palin fan would say.
