    No body has mentioned TART.

    A pertinent point. I’m happy to be able to report that just the other day I had a lovely two course meal, viz a tart with a stunning hairy pie. Quite took my breath away. And like any true Englishman you can be damn sure that I was wearing my socks throughout..

    Or may be this is a north of the Border thing (and not wanting to stereo-type) saving a few pennies by leaving out the lower casing of pastry!!

    Nope, it’s so we can get more meat in the pie dish, where as you lot down there fill yer bellies with cheap pastry. Miserable sods.

    If a Pie has no base it’s no more than a TART on it’s back (which doesn’t sound that bad tbh! 8O)

    I’m sorry I’m late but has anyone mentioned American Pie?

    I made Pumpkin Pie once but no one over here could get their head round the fact that it was sweet not savoury.
    I mentioned Apple, Cherry and Mississipi Mud but they weren’t convinced.

    Does it have a lid and bottom of pastry???…thought pumpkin pie was just a tart!!
