I'm one of the saddos that when folk post a band I've never heard of actually go and search them out and listen to them, and happily it's opened up a whole range of stuff to me, so c'mon what's on the decks at home?

Anything…Really anything..oh, apart from Metal. oh, and blues fretboard wankery

Turin Brakes new album is mixed, but theres some very good songs. One of the best albums Ive bought this year had to be Friendly Fires album. Much the same as the single they released, which pleases me. Chase and Status, More than alot is also an album Ive been listening to alot and also Noah and the Whales debut album. Only a few brilliant songs, but worth having for a lazy sunday.

Paulo Nutinis latest is good, lots of summery tracks and much more upbeat than his entry album.

    I quite like this site:

    Music Map

You just type in the name of someone you like and it brings up similar stuff. Bit like last fm I guess but you have to do more research.

    As a one off recommendation:

    Sufjan Stevens – Illinoise
Joyous is the one word i'd use to describe it

Today's ipod commute/spotify at work/vinyl album at home has featured some early Depeche Mode, Dusk by The The, Maxinquaye by Tricky, the duration ep by sixtoo, More Heart Than Brains by Bike for Three and until Mrs Tyred demanded to watch the telly 10 minutes ago, Do It by the Rollins Band.

(any Black Flag/Rollins fans, check this, best thing on internet)

Xipe Totec: Are you me? If you haven't already, go see Joy Formidable live, watched them supporting Passion Pit a few weeks ago, both very very good(Passion Pit surprisingly so). Tried the **** Buttons, funky, not sure yet, needs a couple of listens I think. RichPenny, Casimir Pulaski Day is perhaps one of my all time favourite sad songs I think. Wooden Shjips seems cool, I like, thanks

What excellent taste you all have…

dooge, I forgot to ask, if you like Friendly Fires, have you listened to Empire of the Sun's Album, Walking on a Dream?

I saw Joy Formidable and Chew Lips supporting Howling Bells in Bristol. I love JF, and they were nice after the gig, too. Cerys played Chew Lips this afternoon on her show on 6Music, and they've got a free download on their site. Cerys' show is my perfect music selection, fantastic stuff. Just so much wonderful music about, so little time…

The Dears – No Cities Left is a great album.
The Brian Jonestown Massacre – you used to be able to download all there records for free – don't know if you still can. Worth starting with Take it From the Man or Give it Back.

    Have fun.
