It seems you're a John Peel fan, and therefore must have impeccable taste, so I wouldn't worry what anyone else thinks about your bike. As SSS says, if you're happy then that's all that matters. Now go ride it!*
*actually, don't go ride it now, as it's dark and you don't have any lights fitted.

It's perfect. I like bikes like that, a perfect 'smug bike' Perfect for nailing a descent or rinsing someone on a 3k wonderbike and feeling smug.

You'll be surprised how capable it is. Mine has really rekindled something in my riding. Trying a 29er version at the moment, that's good.
